Our History

St. Matthew was founded in 1877.

In our earliest beginnings, we began as a small group worshiping in homes and in a school house.

Twenty years later, a church was built by dedicated members and horse-drawn wagons.

One hundred years after its founding, the original church burned down, but dedicated members built a new one later that same year.

Over 146 years later, we still worship God with the same dedication.
